About my person

I was born 1959 in Constance, Germany.

After leaving school in 1978 I went to Hamburg to study law. I finished this professional training in 1985.

From 1985 until 1991 I worked as a lawyer for business law in Hamburg, Germany.

Since 1991 I am a judge at the court Amtsgericht Hamburg. In the past I worked in different sectors, for example in the fields of civil law, Zwangsvollstreckung and bancruptcy , criminal law, road traffic law, rental law and family law. At present I am chairwoman in the cilil law department. This and family law have been the focus of my work.

For many years I have been involved intensively with all aspects of Dispute Resolution, Mediation and other forms of out of court dispute settlement. Not only do I use this practical experience for my work as a judge; in addition I pass on my experience in teaching trainee lawyers. I am an acitve member of organizations promotiong mediation. Other projects are under development.
